KOTAK

2021

Hand sculpted clay trays and pink paper boxes made to hold kuaci (watermelon or sunflower seeds) shells. KOTAK means box in Indonesian and eating kuaci is a big part of Southeast Asian culture, the sight of their shells represent the time spent with friends and family.

Wooden Box

2021

4th and final box for kuaci shells made of scrap wood.

"Uang Sogok"

2019

Uang Sogok means bribery money in Indonesian, this artwork is a criticism of the corruption in this country, using bribery as an example. I photoshopped a picture of a rich Indonesian man on the front with a cigar in his mouth, inspired by a picture of Winston Churchill, and a picture of a poor Indonesian woman to highlight how corruption and bribery only help the rich get richer, greater a larger disparity between them.

Metals

2020

These are small metal castings I made in my materials class/ workshop made from aluminium and pewter. Some were intended to be used as jewellery, like the ring, others were happy accidents, like the droplets.

Ashtray

2019

I made this in casting class when we were told to make something in Memphis Style, the design is also inspired by Seth Rogen's ceramic ashtrays.

Spoon

2019
