Planning the art exhibition was one of the hardest but most rewarding tasks I've ever done, as the co- head I had to oversee all the divisions of the art exhibition from marketing, social media, budgeting, exhibition layout, and etc. Working with all the teams is important so we could coordinate and make everything happen as smoothly as possible. Batch 2019's visual arts students were in charge of the art exhibition and we came up with the theme of "HOME", because to us, that is what art is, a comforting space. To make this theme come to life (still on budget) we used cardboard to make signs and our Photo Booth set that is designed to look like an actual house.

I got the role of co- head along with Terence Sammeldy (we can be seen next to each other on the picture above in the middle row's middle and right photos) when our art teacher nominated us.
In preparation of the exhibition, we made a rundown of the actual 3 day event as well as contacting different companies to help us sponsor the exhibition, rent the panels, book the space, and make media content. We ended up doing the exhibition at our high school so that students would be able to visit during their lunch breaks and that meant coordinating with teachers and our principal. We also did a photoshoot at a photo studio to promote each artist's concept and overall theme, as well as a trailer to entice people to visit us. (these links can be found below)
All the art students spent a lot of time working together, we built the Photo Booth set (seen below) and hung up all the artworks, as well as making visuals to post on social media, it was very intense and we would often stay very late (until about 10 PM each day) to finish everything in time.

To engage with visitors and create the comforting atmosphere, we also had live performances by students and we made a playlist with soothing jazz music when performances weren't happening.

To promote our event, we made an instagram where people could follow our journey and also sold post cards of the artworks we were displaying, to get the feel of an exhibition as well, that we packaged with dried flowers.
At the end, it was a great learning and bonding experience and I was told by the head of the DP programme at our high school that I was a good leader. As an art lover, I always loved museums, but this experience made me appreciate them even more. If you'd like to check out the instagram posts or stories, or the art trailer, the links are below. :)
