I'd like to start this by clarifying what I mean by "curating" is a more 21st Century version of it, a democratised version done through applications like Spotify and Pinterest. To me, curating is selecting, sorting and arranging things with intentionality and care. It is a form of planning, on Pinterest; I make boards for future hairstyles, art mediums, or home decor that I like. On Spotify, I make playlists to capture different moods I may be in, and it takes me back to a place I once was or long to be. The senses act as an entry point into those spaces.

I ended up making a card game series called Sensing Nostalgia where people can use the cards and prompts to remember through the senses: sight, smell, taste, touch and hearing. There are different editions that are specific to a place or platforms that are generally universal. The goal is to allow others to access their memories using their senses as memory aids that act as an entry point for people. Nostalgia can offer us a fresh perspective on the present and make us feel better. The cards can be played alone or with others, nostalgia can become a bonding experience, there is no winning or losing. People can choose to go further by documenting their nostalgia in various ways such as writing, drawing, crafts, etc.
